I bought this tablet to replace an old one that was about four years old. The pen is a pretty neat tool to have with this and the screen is very accurate when using it well it doesn’t feel the most comfortable in your fingers it works great. My six-year-old uses it more than I do though and I’m constantly finding myself having to charge it because she’ll drain the battery drawing and playing games. But it also gets great battery life and will last easily 12 hours of high usage.

The screen is beautiful. Speedy. Can install extra memory. The only thing I view as a negative is the pen goes on the back of the tablet. It is held by magnet and is charged there as well. Not very many covers accommodate that location. It is a very nice tablet and does have a good battery life too

The S6 is a great little tablet. The form factor is perfect for carrying around for media consumption on the go. It’s also very powerful and fast performing. I espeically like the AMOLED display which makes viewing media a pleasure. The thin bezels are a plus as well. I’ve found that I use DEXmost of the time as it’s just like a little desktop and makes switching between apps a breeze.
One super nice thing is that it barely uses any battery at all when you close the keyboard on it and when you open it back up, all you DEX apps are right there waiting for you instantly. Love it!

The Samsung Tab6 is a perfectly fine tablet. Strong performance, very good battery life, good resolution. It’s a bit expensive, but can be had on sale which makes it a solid value. The Samsung Cover Keyboard on the other hand is either substantially over priced, or very poorly designed….well both really. Typing on it is fine, keys are responsive, layout is big enough, touch pad works well most of the time, but misses palm action sometimes. However the keyboard and the attached backplate are un necessarily heavy, which takes some of the goodness away from a thin, light tablet. The attachment to the tablet for the keyboard is flimsy particularly if you want to to type on your lap. The software that recognizes the attached keyboard, and it’s functionality particularly when folded back is poor. If you foldover with the blade out, the keyboard still think’s its active. Backlit…mmm nope. Attach the keyboard while working and DEX pops up and kills off some of your open apps.
Protection for the display with the keyboard detached….nope engineering didnt think of that either Someone at Samsung R&D should just go out and buy a Surface device and check out how an attachable keyboard should work. At more than a 50 % premium to a surface keyboard cost….this item at $179 list is just a graceless example of really bad engineering. $60 sure….but not 3 times that. Go for the tablet…it’s good….get a 3rd party keyboard.

I love the tablet. I dont like that it connects to its case with magnets. I was on a video chat with my Dr.’s, when it came unlatched for the first time. My screen is all cracked, yes I bought the extra warranty. But it does me no good. That’s the only thing I have a problem with tablet. My Dr.’s can see clearly they say. The camara worked great before this. I again just wished that the service was there to help…not be told to go to you brokeitwellfixit…knowing I paid the extra money for them. So yes if you want a Samsung tablet get one. Just make sure you get the warranties and registrar it on the Samsung website.

As an avid iPad user, and in need of a portable laptop, I could not resist when the opportunity to test this product came along. First off this is a solid device, the construction is fantastic, it has the feel of a high end device. It is a good looking tablet, feels good in my hands and really not too heavy. Look and construction, 5 stars.
Use as a productivity machine, for me, it is a home run. I am typing this review on the device. Paired with a Samsung Keyboard and bluetooth mouse, it makes a nice little portable laptop experience. The tablet comes with DEX, at first I was unsure aboout it, but after giving it a try, I am liking it so far. It gives you a more PC type of look on the screen layout. I am not 100% sold on DEX, but will continue to use it and all its features, two days is really not enough time to give it a proper review.
The speed of this tablet is very good, with the new Snapdragon processor it is very snappy and quick. I can easily go from task to task with no stuttering or slowdowns. It is running Android 9 and so far it is as good as advertised.
Screen is bright and the resolution is terrific. Battery life is very good, I have fully charged it once and it is still going with light to moderate use for the past two days, battery is at 39%. Not bad at all.
I am using this device for work, and it has been stellar. I do inspections and use the tablet to photograph the items, complete my online reports, edit and complete PDF files. This tablet has really been a real workhorse for me.
Now, for my favorite thing about this tablet, the S-Pen. The S-Pen is the geratest addition to a tablet, ever. For me, it is indispensible. I use it to take notes during inspections, annotate photos to highlight damages, and it keeps my screen smudge free when completing forms and online reports. The S-Pen has really advanced in the past few years, it is better and more powerful than ever, and is no longer a gimmick, it is a true tool for work and productivity.
My last galaxy tablet was the old Galaxy Note 10.1, a great tablet for its time, but not nearly as civilized as the S6 tablet.
The other issue I had, and even have now with my iPad Pro, is what to do with the S-Pen/Apple Pencil when not in use. The S6 tab has solved that issue without the need to purchase any additional items. There is a magnetic notch on the back of the device and the S-Pen conveniently sets in it nicely. For even more added security, the Keyboard case has a flap that covers the S-Pen and keeps it very secure on the tablet.
I really like this portable productivity machine and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a solid choice in a tablet.
I would recommend this to a friend

The unit came 75% charged, but the quick-start guide recommended that a full charge be used before setup. It took about 20min to reach 100%. Initial setup was relatively painless. Just note that all of the default options are set to allow Google and Samsung access to your personal data. If you have concerns, as I do, about the collection and (mis)use of your personal data, you will need to take the time to uncheck a lot of options during setup. Many of the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policies that you must agree to during (and after) setup are not on the device. You must have an Internet connection to read them.
You have the option to use several different methods of signing into the Tab S6, three user entry methods (pattern, PIN, and password) and two biometric methods (facial recognition and fingerprint). The facial recognition works well, but in the end I opted to delete these data not to use facial recognition as one can never know who else out there might look enough like me to open the device.
The setup dialog and initial fingerprint registration were presented in portrait mode. When using the tablet in landscape mode the fingerprint reader was rather sensitive to the angle of my finger placement. If you plan to use the tablet mostly in landscape mode, consider registering new fingerprints (even if they are the same fingers) once the auto-rotate feature on the display is enabled.
Design:
Form Factor: The Tab S6 is very thin and the screen covers all but about ¼” on each edge of the face. It is difficult to hold it without touching the screen. A case is a requirement for holding the tablet with one hand or for tilting it on any surface.
Stylus: The included “S Pen” stylus is a great feature and the magnetic stylus charging dock on the back of the Tab S6 allows you to not have to worry about battery replacement. However, the tablet will not lay flat with the stylus in the charging dock and the stylus is easily dislodged when handling the tablet. This could be a problem when traveling or commuting where a dropped stylus could be difficult locate and retrieve. If you plan to use the Tab S6 in “the wild”, a case with an easy-access cover for the stylus is a good idea. Battery life on the stylus is relatively short as it is a Bluetooth device with what must be a rather small battery. I actually like using the stylus and it is no hardship to revert to my finger while it is recharging. The S Pen comes with a tip extraction tool and two spare tips. Instructions for using the extraction tool are not provided, but can be found in the online user’s guide.
Battery: Battery life on the Tab S6 is quite good. I use mine mostly for web browsing and streaming video and recharge it every 2 to 3 days. The Tab S6 comes with a dual voltage charger (9v 1.67A & 5v 2.0A) and a USB(A)-to-USB(C) cable. The dual voltage allows for “intelligent” fast charging of the tablet. Video and network activities (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth) are the most demanding on batter life. Enabling airplane mode can significantly extend battery life when network access is not needed.
Processor: The Tab S6 has an 8-core CPU with 6GB of RAM. The tablet is very responsive and, while it got slightly warm, CPU benchmarks were quite good under stress testing. It is advertised as an alternative to a laptop, but using it as such seems a bit of a stretch with only 8 cores and 6GB of RAM.
Storage: The Tab S6 comes with 128GB of internal storage and a microSD tray capable of handling an addition 512GB card. A small stylus (not the S Pen) is provided to release the microSD tray.
Cameras: The back camera is 13MP and the front camera is 8MP. The back camera has a very short minimum focus distance (about 3 inches). The front camera will focus on objects at about 6 inches or beyond. Both have wide and narrow angle settings. The narrow angle setting allows for touch-screen AF/AE lock and an 8x digital zoom. A “Pro” mode allows you to control the ISO, white balance, and exposure. In addition to “Pro” mode, night, panorama, “live focus”, photo, video, and “hyperlapse” modes are also available.
Display: The Tab S6 will decode video files up to 8K, but the display is 2560 x 1600 (WQXGA). Nonetheless, the 10.5-inch display is brilliant, detailed, and accurate.
Audio: There is no headphone jack on the Tab S6. I recommend Bluetooth headphones or a USB(C) headphone adapter or DAC/AMP for your wired headphones. Nonetheless, the 4 small speakers at the corners of the tablet provide surprisingly good audio for casual listening (i.e. podcasts and streaming radio).
Overall: I have had five Android devices over the years (two phones, two tablets, and a high-res digital audio player). The Tab S6 is the one general purpose Android device that I enjoy using. It has a great display and is very responsive. I like the stylus, but the magnetic charging dock makes it prone to being knocked off. A case is a must for keeping the stylus in place and for using the tablet with one hand or on a desktop, lap, or airplane tray table.

I first purchased two of these from Costco, (both cloud blue) 3 weeks apart from each other. Both had the same identical problem. Neither one would go past the glaring “Samsung.” That’s all it did so I returned both and left a negative review. Costco however, never posted my review. So I came to Bestbuy where it was on sale and purchased the mountain Gray, turned it on and it worked. Thank God! So far, so good. I love the brightness, the video quality is great and the camera as well. It’s the same as my Samsung Nore 9. So, I’m using it more now than I am my phone. As I get older I prefer bigger screens. Plus l love the fact that my Samsung phone can connect to my tablet. I can take phone calls and check my messages while my daughter monopolizes my phone. The only negative thing is, there appears to be a glitch with the Samsung built in keyboard on the tablet. I try to type and it skips spaces all the time or puts in double letters while typing messages. It gets annoying sometimes. Other than that, I love it and it’s a definite upgrade from my Samsung Galaxy Tab A which had several glitches.

I’ve had Samsung Tab A, and the S4. Samsung is pushing tablets and this one does everything you want. Good battery life, the pen is handy as usual, and it’s not heavy. The screen is very nice, bright, colors pop, and a good resolution. For a tablet, the on board sound is surprisingly good. With 128GB memory you have enough to load lots of programs and files before going to a micro SD card. Front and back cameras are sharp and easy to use.
With the pre-loaded items there isn’t a lot to suck up space and power. With the 2560×1600 Screen, there is plenty of space for apps and widgets to be on the screen, or to comfortably read and use apps you open. The fingerprint reader is built into the screen, so there is no extra space is taken up or odd back placement. The S pen is refined. Slimmer, but same functions. It has one button where your thumb goes when holding it. The pen is on the back of the tablet and held magnetically, which probably allows the tablet to be thinner. Although the magnet holds it securely, it’s just hanging exposed on the back. So, it could get knocked off pretty easily. Without a case, it is something to be cautious of. With the Snapdragon 855 processor, the table is very peppy. Apps come up quick and responses are good. I had no problems connecting to 2.4 and 5.0 Ghz networks. Wireless headphones sound great connected to the tablet. A half hour of headphones, being wi-fi connected, listening to music, and web browsing used 2% of the battery. It comes with Android 9, so the latest features and abilities are available. Samsung’s Bixby, works like any other voice assistant.
The tablet’s size makes it easy to take with you, and does what you need. Mail, web browsing and taking notes with the pen are easy. You can expand with micro SD cards if needed. The USB-C port fast charges the tablet. There are cheaper tablets out there, but the screen and processor alone give you more capability. If you don’t want a laptop, but want to be able to do office, web browsing and has a nice screen, this tablet should have you covered.

This tablet is a great Android device. I love the Samsung Dex that creates more of a laptop feel to the operation system. I find that people either love it or hate it. I definitely am an iOS fanboy owning an iPhone, Apple Watch, an old iPad, and Apple TV. I bought this tablet hoping for something that would oil up my Android skills. I’ve not been disappointed at all. I will say the stylus sometimes gets squirrelly if I’m playing with the tablet and watching TV not paying attention to what I’m doing.

After extensive research on Samsungs website and via YouTube videos, I opted to go with this device for my needs. I didn’t like the idea of the pen being lose on the back panel only held by magnetic strip because I worry about losing it. I have to say it does stick well but also does get knocked off very easily. I think there should have been a better location for the pen but they made it quite large for the device and it would take away from the thinnest of the device. You can stick the pen to the bottom edge as well. I purchased s cheaper case than the samsung case and it comes with a spot to secure the pen to the bottom if not using. You can opt for a case similar to samsungs and it will cover the pen and keep you from knowing off when not in use. As for operating the device. I’ve tested it playing games for 3 days straight and battery life was good. No issues with any of the games I played and device is super lightweight and easy to handle.
