Arrived in excellent condition, easy assembly and started right up on propane fuel. 100% satisfied.

Simple to assemble and operate, plenty of power at a great price. Doesn’t take up too much space, 20lb propane tank lasts a long time. Looks good too

Lots of power. Easy key start up. Have had it running on propane and starts right up. A bit louder than expected but for it’s size and 50 amp capability it will power the house during any ice storm power outage. It is very heavy but the wheels and handles makes rolling it easy. Hooked it up to a 50 amp transfer switch and it powers everything hooked up to it

very strong preformed just as advertised. Would HIGHLY recommend this above all others. Installed transfer switch along with rewiring my switch box. Now I can’t wait till the power goes out!!! Duromax is strong enough to run 90% of my home. It will handle my Gas / Electric on emergency heat that alone is wonderful!!!! I have no dislikes. We have had this for a few weeks just now had the time to get the transfer switch installed and all the electrical do hook this to the outside. It meets more than I expected!!!!! Again I will tell everyone about Duromax !!!!! A side note I would highly recommend to install the transfer switch as a safety steps to keep power from back feeding to the (Power Company).

Ordered this online from Home Depot and it arrived within 10 days. I purchased the Reliance Pro Tran 2 transfer switch with a Reliance 50 amp plug for outside. I installed the transfer switch myself. It was very straight forward and when I questioned myself I went on the Reliance website and the video was explained it all. Generator started right up. I use propane because less maintenance than gas.

Great price for a powerful generator. I am going to use it with the Generlink to provide emergency power for my home. Well built and fired up immediately out of the box!

Everything is what it said it was. I have had it for 1 month. I bought it for the dual fuel feature to run as a back up house generator when power goes out. A licensed electrician wired it to my house using a Pro/Tran 2 transfer switch. The generator runs everything in my house except the air conditioner. Propane stores so much easier and the generator starts and runs extremely well on propane. I just wheel the generator out the side garage door plug it in and start it up. The wheels get a flat spot when it sits greater than 5 hours. So I placed it on a $19.00 wooden furniture dolly.

This generator works great so far! With PGE out-we used the generator for three days straight and it performed well. Nice easy start, big tank for gas so you don’t have to re-fill multiple times a day and did the job. To keep the gas moving and the battery charged, I ran it last week when we did have power. Notice how the light shows up showing that the battery is re-charging-GREAT option I think. The manual didn’t give as much information as I’d like: doesn’t explain the idle control enough; but I’m grateful to have this now for the winter and future PG&E outages ~ 🙂

I read a lot of reviews of this machine and went into it with my eyes wide open. I was ready for dead batteries, broken pieces, missing parts, etc. I knew I was buying cheap Chinese stuff, so I expected to get what I paid for. From start to finish I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, the people at Bulkra, both on-line where I ordered, and at the Amsterdam, NY store where I picked up, were great, helpful, courteous, friendly. The box was pretty banged up but no major holes so I took it home to my barn to unpack. The packing job on this is fantastic, nothing inside showed any damage. Be sure to read all unpacking instructions before starting. There are wood blocks, metal braces, plastic straps and lots of informative tags to remove (and oil to add) before running. It was 5 degrees below zero (Fahrenheit) in the barn when I opened the box and I didn’t think I’d feel like doing any assembly, but the whole thing went together in less than ten minutes. Everything I needed was there. They sent two open-end wrenches that fit all the nuts and bolts. They sent a double ended screw driver, jumper cables for the 12 volt DC hook up, a standard 3 prong plug end and a 4 prong plug for the RV outlet. (Note: my machine came in a giant plastic bag inside the box. There were lots of parts loose in the bottom of the bag including the keys, so pay attention to that. If anything’s missing check that bag for damage.) I added oil, hooked up the battery and a propane bottle, hit the purge button a few times and turned the key. The instructions said to cold start with choke open for propane. I figured that was a misprint, so I choked it and it didn’t start. As soon as I took the choke off, it fired. It started on the third try in very cold conditions. Again, I was impressed. I love the propane feature, the electric start, the wheel kit, all a step up from my previous generator. So far it’s doing everything I ask of it, running shop tools (table saw, planer, jointer, etc.) Output on these units is notoriously dirty, so don’t try to run sensitive electronics with it. If that’s what you need, look at the generator/inverter models with clean, true sine wave output. Bottom line, right now I’m thrilled. I know it’s cheap Chinese stuff so no telling how long it will last, but I will be putting it to the test for the next month. If I run into problems I’ll be back with another review.

The equipment arrived at Bulkra as the pick up location when confirmed to be there.Itw as assembled an given a test run. Worked right off.

Seems to work as promised. Cranks easily and powers as ut should. It needs an hour meter in order to do maintenance as the manual suggests. I purchased an hour meter for $7 which works great.
James77 –
The generator works great, was able to power our cental HVAC system. But have close breakers to must other stuff to have enough power. Like the 2 fuel and Recoil start in cause battery fails .

Just bought the beast about a month ago. I just built my new home and had an electrician hook up an outlet for the generator. We lost power during the weekend due to snow. I took the opportunity to try it out. I used a 40 pd. propane cylinder and the adaptor connect right into the tank. I Switch off only a few breakers, hot water heater, stove. I ran all my lights, along with three very large fish tanks, television, internet, fridge, I also ran my heat pump unit. This generator does it all. My power stayed out for almost an hour. Using propane is the way to go. I have no complaints.

It was pretty straight forward in the setup and assembly. The battery was a little hard to get to (it came with the neg cable unhooked, and I added a trickle charger while I was at it). The wheels and handles went on without a hitch. There was one spot on the frame that said to remove the yellow shipping block but I could never find it or any mention of it in the instructions. I am only running propane through it and it started right up. Just remember to really tighten down on the connector that goes into the tank. If it is tight enough you will hear a pssst sound when you prime the carburetor. If you don’t then you did not get it tight enough.
Becky622 –
Only tried once after electrical installation, note shipped with battery (negative)disconnected . There is no indication in the manual, also no indication if battery needs to be charged. Will update after first hurricane. Finding a suitable and reasonable electrician for the hook up was the only major problem so far.

I really like the new generator. However, the documentation is wrong. It clearly says to open the choke when using propane. Not so. You must start the thing with the choke closed, and then very quickly open it as it’s trying to start.

I Finally got around to doing a dry run pre test for hurricane season 2020 , i have my 50a inlet box hooked up 6awg wiring 50a breaker with interlock so up to code a 100lb propane tank filled and ready to go conveniently strapped to a hand truck for mobility because the 100lb is no problem when empty but fill it and its a different beast have a spare 20lb tank for the grill and 30gallons of gas that i will dump in my silverado before it gets old and i’ll keep some on rotation i may get a 2nd or even 3rd 100lb propane tank … some say it may be overkill but i was with out power for 9 days with Irma and by the 3rd day got a hold of a 7500w no name generator that got us thru .. so anyway my home is 3000+ sqft 2 story in florida i fired it up, switched off the main, turned off all house breakers & hooked it up to my house i switched on the generator breaker and my house inlet breaker then the 3ton 2nd floor ac unit then the 1st floor 2.5ton ac unit it barely noticed the blip in rpm both ac units kicked on as they normally do with out hesitation then 1 at a time turned on all breakers excluding hot water heater and stove because in a real situation i would only have them on when using and the hot water stays for days or until used then i can flip that on when theres not much load going on but it ran the house, wifi TVs all lights and fans 2 AC units 2 fridges etc now before the haters chime in i’m going to put it out there that almost every light in my house is LED all computers, security system and cable boxes are on theyre own battery back up and even both of my AC units i installed kickstarts T05 which not only cut the amperage load on start up from 74a to 48a they start quicker so its a lower load for a shorter amount of time i cant say enough how impressed i am with it and feel pretty ready for the next go around

This generator is extremely loud, so buyer beware!
Valentina –
Had EAU Gallie install inter lock kit and 50amp inlet. My DuroMax ran my whole house including 4 ton A/C, no problem!I still added a hard start to the A/C.
Beatriz –
This generator was very easy to assemble and the build quality is top notch. Started up on first turn of the key after filling with 10-30 oil and hooking up to propane. No complaints so far but have not had a power outage to really put it to the test but from what I can see I made the right purchase for our needs.

We bought generator after we lost power for 2 days in the winter. Never again will go through that. Bulkra have the best price $899 with free shipping. It took about 2 weeks for the generator to come to the house. This generator is awesome I can’t wait for the power to go out so I can used it. This is a must buy, it’s like car insurance it’s a waste until you need it.

We just survived Hurricane Irma here in GA. Our power was out for 2 days. I had purchased this generator from Home Depot.com the month before, in preparation for hurricane season. I had a 50 amp power inlet with interlock switch installed as well. Using a 50 amp power cable, I connected the generator to my new power inlet. This generator ran most of my home (excluding main AC units). I used standard 20 lb propane tanks and the generator ran beautifully. Each tank ran for 7-8 hours, not 20 hours as advertised. Kept my refrigerator and freezer going. Highly recommended!

Review Guidelines Focus on the product and your individual experience with it: For Shipping / Damaged / Delivery item issue, I thought this is the right spot to mention something on the above topics; According to the delivery company (ESTES) the generator was supposed to be curb side delivery. However, when delivered the delivery man set the generator inside our garage on our request. Inspection of the generator box by myself and the delivery man did not identify any damage. What features stand out most? The capability of running the generator on duel fuel, electric/key start, and a large capacity (wattage) for running electrical loads. What do you like or dislike about it? The unit is portable easy to move around. This unit can run all of our house hold electrical loads, any time of the year. Instead of two handles to pickup the unit, it would have been nice if the unit had front wheel in the middle with a pull-on handle so the unit could be pulled instead of picking up. Addition of engine oil and checking are some issues that needed some improvement. At my age (70 and over) it is very difficult to do these tasks. How long have you had it? We bought this generator on November 8th, 2019; from the Bulkrat in Normal Illinois. Does it meet your expectations? So far what we have seen the Duromax XP12000EH generator meet ore expectations.

Works great, started up right away. Runs well without any problem so far. A small problem with the delivery as the delivery company lost the first one. Home Depot gave me a discount and shipped a new one out right away. The generator is strong enough to run my Eastwood MP250i multiprocess welder and 220v and whatever amperage draw I need.

Finally gave in and bought a generator; too many days with loss of power here in MA. Researched heavily searching for the biggest bang for the buck!! Found this Duromax hybrid and it has yet to dissappoint! Only issue is that the back up battery does not seem to hold a charge but the pull cord is easy and does not require too much pull-force to start…and starts on 2nd or 3rd pull. And it is a bit of a beast to move into place from storage across 20ft of lawn and away from the house for safety clearance. Overall it is a BEAST for power as I can run my WHOLE house on this machine, which includes a Hot Tub, but you need to start-up in sequence.
Raymond34 –
yes the 12000w gen is the best run the house with a 4 ton ac and everything
Amanda457 –
Worked just like it was supposed to, right out of the box. easy to set up. Had it hooked up to the house by an electrician. Runs everything, even my AC.
Billy –
No issues yet but it cranks right up I haven’t had to use it on a power outage the only thing I’ve done was to check to see if it will power up my house with everything energized and I left it running for about 10 minutes everything’s good so far and I live in Florida with a 3 and 1/2 ton AC unit blowing cold air I give it a thumbs up!!
Alicia76 –
So far I’ve only used this one time, but it has done everything I asked of it. I used to power my 140amp welder, angle grinder, chop saw and reciprocating saw while replacing an 18-ft gate. I look forward to using it more on off site projects

Works well power hold house

This generator looks well built. I took it out of the box and put the handles and wheel kit on it. Haven’t put gas or oil in it yet. Wish it would have come with oil. Not that I needed it right away but, in a blizzard, you don’t just run to the store and get some. Otherwise, it looks great. Really like the duel fuel option!
