We bought this for the occasional power outages due to wind storms in CT. A lot of trees and branches come down, knocking out the power. We got this smaller size, as we usually just need to run the furnace, fridge and a few lights. We wanted something that would run for a long time on a tank of gas, so we wouldn’t need to refill in the middle of the night or run to the gas station every few hours in bad weather. So far, we’ve just powered it up, run it for few hours and changed the oil as recommended, so we can’t comment on emergency usage. However, we really like the features, such as the battery powered remote start, and we like the wheels and handle for mobility. Just push a button, and the generator fires right up, nice. We’re setting up the hook-up, with an electrical panel interlock and power inlet box, just need an electrician to actually show up and make the connections. All-in-all I think this generator will suit our emergency power needs nicely, just need a storm to test it.
