Description
It’s time to throw back your head and cackle at nature’s petty attempts to rain on your parade with the WEN 9,000-Watt Generator. Boasting an impressive 9,000 surge Watts and 7,000 running Watts, this generator will ensure that your basement stays dry, your meat stays cold and your TV stays on under even the harshest of weather conditions. The EPAIII compliant 420cc 15 HP OHV engine along with the 6.5 Gal. fuel tank combine to provide users up to 9 hours of runtime at half load. To turn the generator on, either yank the recoil starter or use the keyless electric start for ignition at the press of a button. The WEN 9,000-Watt Generator includes four 120-Volt 20 Amp three-prong receptacles, one 120/240-Volt 30 Amp twist-lock (L14-30), one 120-Volt 30 Amp twist lock and 1 car-charger-style 12-Volt DC car-charger-style-outlet. The WEN 9,000-Watt Generator also includes a spark arrestor, a necessary addition to meet the standards for use in U.S. National Parks and Forests. The automatic voltage regulator helps produce cleaner power to protect your electronics. Power indicator lights above the receptacles inform users as to whether or not the outlets are live. The wheel and handle kit makes mobility simple. Low-oil shut down safeguards the unit from damage while the digital hour counter helps users stay on a routine maintenance schedule. Your purchase comes backed by a 2-year warranty.

I bought this generator a year ago during a massive east coast storm where we ended up without power for close to a week. At that time, I did not have any accessories for the generator, and simply used the regular 110v outlets, and it was a life saver. I have 4 children who would have been scared to death without any power at all. I now have the unit hooked up to a transfer switch with my fuse box, and it powers my entire 3000 sq ft home. It is almost like the power never went off. Electric start is invaluable to people like me with a bad back.

Unit came on a pallet via truck. Easy to assemble. The only problem is the negative from the battery. after 3 weeks I still can’t undo it to connect the cable. Lug too soft and tools strip it. Working on problem. Unit does need to be grounded, earth ground. Don’t leave off. Ground floats if not grounded. Unit is nice and not that noisy.. Would like to have seen a wattage/power used meter on board.

So far I am very happy with the Wen 9000 generator. The electric start was a must or us since the wife could not pull the coil start on our old one. It usually starts in less than two seconds and is much quieter than I thought it would be. The 9000 easily runs the whole house including the a/c although we turn off non essential things when the a/c is running. I have connected a dedicated trickle charger to it so it’s always ready to go and built a little “shed” around it to protect it since it will stay out year round. It is secured to eyebolts I sunk into a concrete pad and I put a GPS locator on it as well. The sides on the shed slide out when in use for obvious ventilation reasons. Our home is wired with a transfer switch so now it’s just throw the switch and push the electric start and we’re good to go. It’s a quality product. Thanks Bulkra
